What is Scalp Micropigmentation?

SMP for menScalp Micropigmentation is a non-invasive treatment that uses detailed micro-needles to insert custom blended deposits of specialized top quality SMP pigment into the scalp. It is a paramedical scalp tattooing process. The results create the appearance of tiny hair follicles or short hair stubble.

If you are starting to thin, recede, or if you are completely bald, I can give you the look of a short buzz cut or create the look of density for the illusion of a fuller head of hair with realistic, undetectable results.

What is an SMP Density treatment for Men or Women?

If you still have hair, but your hair is showing signs of thinning and balding  (SMP) scalp tattooing can create the illusion of a thicker, fuller hairline. It looks great on the “part line” and temporal areas as well. This is why many women also choose to have an SMP treatment for hair restoration. it covers this area and is a real confidence booster.

How much does full or partial Scalp Micropigmentation cost?

The initial consultation is complimentary. Please call or text 831 251-7229 to set this up either in person or via Zoom or Facetime so I can give you a price quote.

The cost includes the initial treatment plus 3 follow up sessions. The pricing is based on the level of hair loss, which is different for each client.  I recommend setting up a free consultation so I can evaluate you and provide a personalized price quote based on your hair loss needs.

How many treatments should I expect?

For my scalp micropigmentation procedure most clients can expect between 2-3 sessions to complete their treatment depending on the extent of hair loss or scarring. These treatments are usually spaced about 8-20 days apart.

How long does each scalp micropigmentation procedure appointment take?

My Scalp Micropigmentation Procedure treatments typically take 3 hours for the first session and 2.5  hours for follow up and additional sessions.

This will depend on your degree of hair loss or scarring from previous hair restoration surgery or SMP procedures. Clients can expect between 2-3 sessions to complete their treatment. My treatments are usually spaced about 8-20 days apart.

How long do the results last?

After completion of your treatment, my procedure usually takes 2-3 sessions, but in some instances may take 4, a client should expect the strength of the color to last for many years, 5 years or more.Over a longer term, a client will very gradually begin to notice slight lightening ( but not discoloring)  of the treatment. When this occurs they can undergo a brief “touch up” session to restore any fading and secure many more years of their style.

Do I need to take time off work?

Scalp micropigmentation is non-invasive and requires no down time. In most cases, you will not need to take any extended time away from work, school, or other functions. After treatment it is common to notice slight redness on the scalp for 2-3 days post session. This redness subsides quickly, in most cases, about 48 hours and most clients return to work either right away or within a couple of days. Clients are also allowed to wear hats or headwear should they feel the need.

How do I choose a hairline?

If you are unsure of what style or type of hairline will work for you, I can evaluate your facial shape and symmetry and together we can create the right look for you.
Feel free to bring pictures of hairline shapes that appeal to you.

If I have hair left, can I leave it long?

Depending upon the pattern and extent of the thinning hair, some clients are able to maintain a longer length of hair. Scalp micropigmentation can help thicken areas so that less of the scalp is seen showing through. However, if there is a strong pattern of hair loss or just not a lot of hair density left, the client is recommended to crop it shorter.

Can Scalp Micropigmentation camouflage my transplant scar?

By replicating tiny hair follicles inside the scarring and blending the color around the scarring area, transplant and surgical scars can be concealed.
